Seoul is ending the 30-day Climate Card and moving benefits to Climate Card Plus

Seoul says the 30-day Climate Card ends on September 1, 2026, with Ddareungi and other Seoul benefits planned under Climate Card Plus

Jun 24, 2026

If you use Climate Card for Ddareungi access, watch the July and August cutoffs before the September 1 switch.

Seoul says the 30-day Climate Card ends on September 1, 2026, with Ddareungi and other Seoul benefits planned under Climate Card Plus.

The Dates

Seoul's notice gives the practical cutoffs:

prepaid 30-day Climate Card charging: until July 31, 2026. prepaid final-use date: August 29, 2026. postpaid final-use date: August 31, 2026. existing prepaid and postpaid Climate Card operation ends: September 1, 2026.

Seoul says Climate Card Plus will add Seoul-specific benefits to the Everyone's Card / K-Pass base, including Ddareungi-linked benefits.

What To Do

Do not wait until the last week of August if the card is part of your routine.

Seoul says users should switch to K-Pass / Everyone's Card or Climate Card Plus before the 30-day Climate Card ends. It also says the Climate Card Plus launch schedule is not fixed yet and will be announced again.

That is not elegant. It is, however, a clear reason to check your setup early.

TL;DR

  • Seoul says the 30-day Climate Card ends on September 1, 2026.
  • Last prepaid 30-day charging is listed for July 31.
  • Ddareungi benefits are planned under Climate Card Plus, but Seoul says the launch schedule is still to be announced.

Useful if you actually use the card.

If you only rent Ddareungi occasionally, this is background noise. If your commute or routine uses the Climate Card with Ddareungi, check the dates before August turns into a small payment headache.
